Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus & High Speed

As Warden, Liz has represented all of Haliburton County on the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus (EOWC).
The EOWC is an important collaborative of 13 counties tackling issues important to over 750,000 citizens across Eastern Ontario. Over the past year she has held the role of Vice Chair of the Caucus.
The biggest of these issues has been the massive cell gap and high speed enhancement project of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) that forms part of the EOWC. This project will see $150 million investment by Rogers Communications for improved broadband across Eastern Ontario including Haliburton County. Additional funding for the project was provided by both the Federal and Provincial governments.
This has admittedly been a slow and challenging endeavour that requires knowledgeable voices to see it through.
The EOWC is an important lobby group where Liz has many times met with and lobbied provincial and federal leaders on issues such as housing, emergency response, high speed internet, long term care, paramedic services, community paramedicine and the creation of new Ontario Health Teams.
